lip piercing

So yesterday, I finally decided to pierce the right side of my lip. I got enough courage to do it even after being told not to by my parents. So I went over my friend's house, pierced it, then hung out with a couple other friends for the rest of the day. We watched Twilight, which was (in my opinion) a great movie, but many people tell me that they didn't like it since the book was so much better. I wouldn't know because I never read the book.

Anyway, I was thinking the whole day about what my mom would say if she found out about my piercing. I was first going to hide it from her for as long as I could, but I decided that it wasn't a great idea because if she found out for herself, it would've just made things worse. So then I decided to tell her in the car as soon as she picked me up. Her reaction wasn't as bad as I thought; she just gave a really big sigh and yelled "Why would you do that!" But as she gradually went on with her lecture/tantrum, I persistently told her that I wanted to keep it, even though she consistently told me to take it out.

In the end, she won the argument by using the "guilt" trick. Since I wouldn't take it out, she stopped and said,
"You're a great daughter. Because of your selfishness, we're going to be taking all the sh*t from other parents who disapprove of your piercing. We've given you everything, and you can't even resist a piercing in return."
Of course this worked. So I reluctantly took out the labret and said, "I took it out." and suddently, she acts sorry for me. So now that I think about it, I'm not as upset as I was because she told me I can do whatever when I go to college. At least then, whatever I do won't be blamed on my parents since I'd be considered an "adult." It's whatever now. But I gotta admit, I did enjoy it while it lasted.

So after the piercing, my friend fed her snake right in front of me. It was the. craziest thing. I've ever seen. I felt so bad for that rat. It was pretty cute too.

RIP lip ring; RIP cute rat.
